    Sammy D.
  • TEACHERS WHO REALLY CARE
"This is a truly great place. It's quickly becoming a keystone of the neighborhood. Great teachers who really care about kids. They are kind but disciplined. My daughter has been so happy with both her summer camp and after-school program. Terrific!"
    Emily V.
  • THEY GREET YOU WITH WARM SMILES
"I couldn't be happier that my daughter's first time summer camp experience was with Urban Martial Arts. The staff always greets the parents with warm smiles and the kids with a high-five! My daughter loves the program so much that every morning I am rushed by her not to be late. This program has opened up my daughter who was very shy. This is by far the best place to put your child."
    Natacha F.

  • What will my child do at the camp?
This is a very active camp with plenty of outdoor time. Our campers get daily karate classes and lots of karate-themed games and activities indoors and outdoors that help them develop strength, flexiblity, and agility. They will also be exposed to the rich diversity of martial arts from around the world. Every week, our campers learn about a different country and its own form of martial arts -- from Brazil's capoeira to Senegal's laamb wrestling. They'll have discussions about that country's martial arts, do activities related to the topic, and complete written and arts projects related to that topic. Because character development is a required part of our martial arts curriculum, our campers will be exposed to that too. Each week they will focus on a different theme like "respect" or "loyalty" and learn what it means to embody those qualities.
  • Is this an intensive sports training camp?
No, it's not an intensive training camp. It's an activity camp that incorporates elements of karate and fitness. So kids stay very active, but they're not literally working out every hour of the day.
  • Do I have to do all 9 weeks of the camp?
No, you can do either 3 weeks, 5 weeks, 7 weeks, or 9 weeks. And they don't have to be consecutive weeks -- you can always mix and match.
  • What's the minimum number of weeks I can do?
The minimum is 3 weeks, but they don't have to be 3 consecutive weeks -- you can always mix and match.
  • What's the youngest age you take?
Our camp is open to kids aged 4 and up.
